The BCER is seeking proponents to provide archaeological services as needed in support of restoration work at Orphan sites.

Description

The specific site service area included in the Request for Standing Offer is the following:

  1. Archaeological Services
    1. Provide archaeological services in support of planned Orphan site restoration activities. Services may include archaeological desktop reviews, Post Construction Assessments, Preliminary Field Reconnaissance, Archaeological Impact Assessments, and supporting archaeological management recommendations. Services may also include additional information gathering and consulting services, and other services required to complete the scope of work, as directed by the Regulator.
    2. Able and willing to apply for and hold permit(s) issued under the Heritage Conservation Act (HCA) on behalf of the BCER required to complete archaeological assessment work on orphaned sites.
    3. Able and willing to work in collaboration with the current holder of the HCA permit for the BCER, until such a time as the successful proponent obtains required permit(s).

The population of orphan sites under the care and control of the British Columbia Energy Regulator and Orphan Site Reclamation Fund are located in north-east British Columbia (BC). This orphan site population can be viewed on an interactive webmap.

HCA permit(s) would be held by the archaeological company.

Documentation Coordinator/Specialist: Provides internal process and procedure support and oversight of documents. Likely utilised during desktop reviews and reporting activities.

Independent Reviewer: Provides final, senior, independent review of deliverables. Would not have contributed to the primary collection of data/information and report writing.

If exact alignment with the resources identified in Appendix C is not possible the submission will not be penalized provided a complete rate sheet is provided as per sections 6.2 (Price) and 7.0 d).
